Albertus Pictor is Sweden's foremost medieval church painter. He painted a total of 36 churches in the late 15th century, primarily in Uppland and Södermanland. Nederluleå Church in Gammelstad church village was also painted by Albertus Pictor and is included in UNESCO's World Heritage List.
The pattern for the ALBERTUS blanket is inspired by the loops of acanthus leaves and borders that are common in Albertus Pictor's painted churches.
